Hello everyone in bloglandia, my name is Kamiell i am new to this so try and bear with me while i figure it out. i guess i should tell you a bit about me huh? i live in BFE Nebraska, i like it sometimes but other times it is hard to relate to some of the people here just because a lot of them have lived in a small town their whole lives and have very set minds. i originally hail from California, then when i was seven we moved to Colorado, then after living there for seven years we moved to Nebraska and eight years later here we are.
i live with my mother and younger brother, my mom and i are heavier ladies and so we have started a lifestyle change, we are doing well, so far i have dropped 35 lbs. i go to the gym everyday i actually like it a lot, when im mad i end up working it all off. i love my brother but he is one of those guys who can eat anything they want and if he gains a pound he grows an inch, its frustrating i tell ya, but he also does sports, he's big into football.
So i work at a hospital as a cook and we have this thing called an adventure race, its a thirty mile long race that involves cycling, water play and running, every so often there are checkpoints where you have to stop and do an activity like climbing a big stack of hay-bales and get a card punched to prove you did it. i know i am not ready this year to do it but i signed up for next years race and now i need to start training for it, i am getting a bike for my birthday next month and i discussed a cycling program with my trainer, she told me i can do my regular workouts and then do a cycling program on top of that since that is cardio and i am doing lift workouts. so i have a year to get ready for this race, i really feel that this is good for me, i am not competing with anyone else i am just trying to better myself and to prove i can do it.
So on that note, does anyone have any cycling advice?
